May 5, 2013 marks Cafe Pesto Kawaihae Harbor’s 25th Birthday! 25 years ago in 1988 we first opened our doors in the quaint harbor town of Kawaihae as a small take-out pizzeria. Fast forward to today and Cafe Pesto is an award winning dining establishment.
Here is a warm-hearted message from owner David Palmer:
“Aloha, I am David Palmer, proud owner of both Cafe Pesto Kawaihae and Hilo Bay. This month marks the 25th anniversary of our Kawaihae restaurant. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have supported our efforts to provide locally sourced, fresh Island cuisine using the bounty provided by our Big Island farmers, ranchers and fisherman to whom much is owed. Before there was Roy’s or a Merriman’s, there was -We’re Talking Pizza aka Cafe Pesto Kawaihae serving creative, organic, and locally sustainable dishes.
